Spirit Mountain Community Fund Grant Purchases Defibrillators
The Spirit Mountain Community Fund awarded a matching grant of $30,968 to Polk County Fire District No.1, Central School District, Independence Police Department, and Monmouth Police Department. The money was used to purchase 37 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for the participating organizations to use throughout the community.
Engineer/Paramedic Joshua Dalrymple of Polk County Fire District No.1 spearheaded this project. "I saw a need and an opprtunity for us to work together for the benefit of our communities," said Engineer/Paramedic Dalrymple. "We already respond and train together for cardiac arrest events. It only made sense that we used the same type of equipment."
