Budget Committee

The Budget Committee acts as community oversight for the business of the District, reviews and discusses the budget proposed by the budget officer, listens to public comment, and approves the budget. There are five members of the Budget Committee.


POLK COUNTY FIRE DISTRICT NO.1 is seeking individual(s) to consider serving a 3-year term on the Fire District Budget Committee. 

To be eligible you must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter within the boundaries of the Fire District, and cannot be an officer, agent, volunteer or employee of Polk County Fire District No.1.  The Budget Committee typically meets at least once annually in the month of May.

The application filing deadline is 5:00 pm on Monday, April 5, 2021. The application can be found below.

The Board of Directors will appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy(s) at the April 8, 2021 Board Meeting.
